Waldorf is included in 24/7 Wall Street’s list of the Top 50 Best Places to Live. The city was ranked #18 out of 50 cities across the United States. The Top 50 Best Places to Live list is based on more than three dozen socioeconomic measures, including population, median home value, poverty rate, and percentage of residents with at least a bachelor’s degree, to identify the 50 best American cities to live in.
Other Washington, D.C. suburbs to make the list included Columbia, Maryland and Arlington, Virginia. Waldorf is noted for not only having easy access to entertainment venues and cultural amenities in the nation’s capital, but also having a greater concentration of restaurants and cafes than is typical nationwide.
"Home is where the heart is! In addition to being a wonderful place to live and raise a family, Waldorf is the ideal destination to enjoy dining, learn more about local history, or savor the great outdoors," said Commissioner Vice President Amanda M. Stewart, M.Ed. "I am honored to be the District 3 Commissioner and to see Waldorf receive the recognition I know we deserve."
“I was pleased to see Waldorf make the Top 50 Best Places to Live list,” said Commissioner Bobby Rucci. “With the city’s close proximity to our nation’s Capital, waterfront, scenic and historic sites, along with our new state-of-the-art schools, Waldorf continues to be a place the residents and I are proud to call home.”
“This ranking confirms what we have seen happening in Waldorf,” said Charles County Economic Development Director Darréll A. Brown. “As the population grows, more professionals are moving here for the quality of life, increasing the percentage of adults with bachelor’s degrees and higher incomes.”
CNN’s Money Magazine has also included the city of Waldorf on its list of the Top 100 Best Places to Live.
